Hong Kong stocks edged higher Monday on an increase in
commodity prices and some hopes the Federal Reserve may delay paring its bond
purchases, with the market also supported by some better-than-expected results.
The Hang Seng Index HK:HSI +0.72% rose 0.7% and the Hang Seng China Enterprises
Index added 1%. Shares of China Construction Bank Corp.

-1.59% climbed 0.5%, footwear major Belle International Holdings Ltd. HK:1880
+6.14% BELLY -4.35% jumped 4.6%, coal miner China Shenhua Energy Co. HK:1088
+4.09% CSUAY +0.72% added 2.5% and refining giant China Petroleum & Chemical
Corp. HK:386 +2.27% SNP +0.66% advanced 1.4% after each posted results. Energy
major Cnooc Ltd. HK:883 +0.64% CEO +1.43% climbed 0.8% and Jiangxi Copper Co.
