Hong Kong stocks fell Monday, paring a quarterly gain on the equity benchmark ahead of Tuesday's holiday closure. The Hang Seng Index HK:HSI -1.26% fell 300 points, or 1.3%, to 22,906.40, with losses slightly accelerating after HSBC's China manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index showed a final reading of 50.2 for September, down from a preliminary reading of 51.2.
