Elsewhere in metals trading, January platinum PLF4 -0.82%  gave up $12.60, or 0.9%, to $1,363.10 an ounce, while March palladium PAH4 -0.53%  shed $4.15, or 0.6%, to $725.10 an ounce. High-grade copper HGH4 -0.68%  lost 2 cents, or 0.7%, to $3.23 a pound.
