In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index HK:HSI +0.47%  was up 0.8%, helped by China Mobile HK:941 +0.81%   CHL -0.42%  which was trading 1.4% higher after Apple AAPL +0.84%  said it plans to start offering the iPhone on China Mobile’s network from Jan. 17.
