Epic Research Singapore : Key index declines 1.7pc

THE Straits Times Index (STI) ended 1.70 points, or 1.70 per cent, lower to 3,059.04, taking the year-to-date performance down to 3.41 per cent.
The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index declined 0.09 per cent while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index gained 0.00 per cent.
Of the actives, DBS added 0.24 per cent, SingTel rose 0.28 per cent, OCBC shed 0.31 per cent, UOB added 0.99 per cent and Hutchison Port Trust Holdings went up 4.07 per cent.
The outperforming sectors, FTSE ST Utilities added 1.21 per cent. Of its two biggest stocks, United Envirotech gained 3.33 per cent while Hyflux was unchanged.
