Singapore's inflation eases to 0.4% in Feb
SINGAPORE'S consumer price inflation eased to 0.4 per cent in February compared to a year ago, downfrom 1.4 per cent in January.
Core inflation - which excludes the costs of accommodation and private road transport - fell to 1.6 per cent in February from 2.2 per cent the month before, due to lower contributions from the costs of food and services.
A sharper 7.1 per cent year-on-year drop in private road transport costs - due to base effects from the surge in COE premiums in January 2013 and falling petrol pump prices - offset increases in food and healthcare costs.
