Epic Research Singapore : Commodity Market Update

Gold futures settled lower on the Comex Wednesday for the first time in three sessions and prices continued to move lower in electronic trading after minutes from the April Federal Reserve meeting. Oil futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange, meanwhile, continued to gain ground following the Fed minutes. The minutes showed that Fed officials examined several approaches for eventual tightening of monetary policy but made no decisions on which tools to use. June gold GCM4 +0.51% traded at $1,285.20 an ounce in electronic trading on Globex, after settling at $1,288.10 on the Comex division of Nymex, down $6.50, or 0.5%, before the release of the minutes. July crude CLN4 -0.18% was at $104.03 a barrel, up $1.07, or 1.7%.
