Epic Research Singapore : Asian Market Update

Asian markets fell on Wednesday with a stronger yen sending Tokyo tumbling after a long weekend, while a sell-off on Wall Street and tensions in Ukraine added to downward pressure.

Tokyo - which was closed on Monday and Tuesday for holidays - lost 2.30 per cent by the break, Hong Kong fell 0.78 per cent, Sydney slipped 1.09 per cent, Shanghai shed 0.32 per cent and Seoul was off 0.42 per cent.

New York's three main indexes turned lower on Tuesday as Twitter dived almost 18 per cent after the end of a lockup period for early shareholders, enabling them to sell for the first time since November's listing.
