The dollar inched down against the euro Tuesday as investors continued
to speculate whether inflation in the euro zone was weak enough to spur
further easing from the European Central Bank in June.
The euro EURUSD -0.03% was at $1.3635 versus $1.3630 late Friday. Belgium, the first euro-zone country to report inflation data for May, said Tuesday its growth in consumer prices dropped to the lowest in more than four years with an inflation rate of 0.36% .
The dollar USDJPY -0.05% was little changed at ¥101.96 versus ¥101.97 late Friday.
