Prices for copper settled nearly flat, with the July contract HGN4 -0.16%   ending at $3.17 a pound.

July platinum PLN4 +0.35%   shed $3.10, or 0.2%, to $1,470.10 an ounce, while Sept. PAU4 +0.36%  climbed by $2.55, or 0.3%, to $835.80 an ounce.
