Asian markets were mostly higher Tuesday after data showed Chinese manufacturing activity picking up last month, while Tokyo was boosted by a weakening yen despite a dip in business confidence.
Wall Street provided another limp lead following a mixed batch of economic data.
Tokyo jumped 1.27 per cent, Sydney added 0.21 per cent, Shanghai added 0.14 per cent and Seoul slipped 0.51 per cent.
