Oil futures settled lower on Monday, with the U.S. oil benchmark slipping below $104 a barrel to hold at their lowest level in a month as traders braced for further growth in global oil supplies.
Crude for August delivery CLQ4 -0.08% fell 53 cents, or 0.5%, to settle at $103.53 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Based on the most-active contracts, prices haven’t closed below $104 since June 6.
On Monday, the August Brent contract UK:LCOQ4 -0.23% lost 40 cents, or 0.4%, to $110.24 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
