November heating oil HOX4, +0.57% gained 1.17 cents, or 0.5%, to finish at $2.4703 a gallon on Nymex. The gains came after losses in three consecutive sessions.
November natural gas NGX14, +0.08% lost less than a penny, or 0.1%, to settle at $3.7960 per million British thermal units. That was natural gas’s lowest settlement since Sept. 5.
