The yen was weaker than its major rivals in Asia trade Monday, with the stock market’s sharp recovery and diminished risk aversion making the Japanese currency vulnerable to selling.
The dollar USDJPY, -0.01% climbed to ¥107.35 from ¥106.93 late Friday in New York.
The euro increased to ¥136.92 from ¥136.37, while the Australian dollar rose to AUDJPY, +0.04% ¥94.18 from ¥93.45.
the euro EURUSD, +0.03% was at $1.2756 from $1.2760.
The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, +0.06% , a measure of the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was up 0.08% at 77.32.
