The dollar was lower against the yen on Monday, as the Tokyo stock market’s decline weighed on a greenback already facing profit-taking after Friday’s weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data.
The dollar USDJPY, -0.40% was at ¥114.20 from ¥114.61 late Friday in New York.
The euro EURUSD, +0.05% was at $1.2482 from $1.2454, and at ¥142.60 from ¥142.73.
The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, -0.31% a measure of the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was down 0.26% at 79.56.
