MARKET UPDATES :
- The Straits Times Index (STI) ended 22.36 points or 0.67% higher to 3338.86, taking the year-to-date performance to – 0.78%.
- The top active stocks today were DBS, which gained 0.71%, Singtel, which declined 0.69%, UOB, which gained 1.13%, CapitaLand, which gained 0.59% and Keppel Corp, with a 0.49% fall.
- The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index gained 0.07%, while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index rose 0.25%.
- The outperforming sectors today were represented by the FTSE ST Technology Index, which rose 3.88%. The two biggest stocks of the Index – Silverlake Axis and STATS ChipPAC – ended 6.60% higher and unchanged respectively.
- The underperforming sector was the FTSE ST Basic Materials Index, which slipped 0.96%. Midas Holdings shares remained unchangedand NSL declined 2.33%.
- The three most active Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) by value today were : IS MSCI India (-0.13%), Nikko Am Singapore STI ETF (unchanged), United SSE 50 China ETF (unchanged)
- The three most active Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) by value were : Suntec REIT (+0.29%), Ascendas REIT (-0.81%), CapitaLand Commercial Trust (-0.66%)
- The most active index warrants by value today were : HSI26400MBeCW150828 (-1.89%), HSI25000MBePW150828 (-1.63%), HSI23000MBePW150828 (-2.00%)
- The most active stock warrants by value today were : OCBC Bk MBeCW151201 (+6.54%), TencentMBeCW150804A (-26.03%), DBS MB eCW150915 (+9.56%)
