Among other metals, September silver SIU5, +0.56% settled down 56.9 cents, or 3.9%, to $14.041 an ounce, extending its losses this week to 8.1%.September high-grade copper HGU5, +1.73% ended at $2.248 a pound, down 6.6 cents, or 2.8%. October platinum PLV5, +1.51% edged up by $3.50, or 0.4% to $980.20 an ounce, while September palladium PAU5, +2.14% lost $10.45, or 1.9%, to $529.65 an ounce.
