Singapore Exchange down 0.8% after derivatives market temporary suspension

Shares of bourse operator Singapore Exchange (S68.SG) are 0.8% lower at $7.84 each, compared to a 0.3% fall in the benchmark stock index after the company temporarily suspended trading on its derivatives market late Monday.

The market opened as usual Tuesday, Singapore Exchange said, noting at just before 8pm on Monday it switched to backup systems after some trading participants experienced problems connecting to the market.

It said the problem was caused by "an intermittent technical failure" and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
