Libra Group's wholly owned subsidiary, Kin Cin Engineering, has been awarded a sub-contract by Deenn Engineering for the supply and installation of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation works for a proposed construction of multi-storey vehicle storage and support facilities at Selarang worth $9 million. The project is expected to be completed by October next year.
In addition, Kin Xin Engineering clinched a contract by Kim Seng Heng Engineering for the installation of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation and fire protection systems for the proposed construction of an one-storey Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre in Marina View worth $5.4 million. The project is expected to be completed in August 2016.
Separately, Libra's wholly owned subsidiary, Libra Building Construction, has mutually terminated its $13 million contract with SH Design & Build and LBC, for the supply, delivery and installation of architectural works for the Philips Project. The Philips Project is an addition and alteration contract for an existing four-storey industrial building for Philips Electronics Singapore. The contract involves adding two storeys to the building.
Libra says all parties involved in the contract have reached an amicable settlement, with SH Design making a $350,000 compensation to the company. The termination of the contract was made before its commencement and will have no material impact on Libra's earnings per share and net tangible asset value per share for the financial year ending Dec 31.
Libra closed flat at 16.7 cents on Monday.
