The following stocks may be in focus today:
- Perennial Real Estate Holdings is exploring the sale of Triple One Somerset for around $2,700 to $2,800 psf, or around $1.55 billion for the entire building, The Edge Markets understands.
- MDR, a mobile phone and consumer electronics products service provider, decided to defer an acquisition plan for next year, citing prevailing market conditions
- Food and beverage company Del Monte Pacific Limited’s net loss for 1QFY2016 narrowed to US$12 million ($17 million) from US$21.9 million a year earlier. Revenue was 6% higher at US$472.8 million.
- Offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) says it was served on Sept 2 with a writ of summons and statement of claim by Kensteel Engineering for $7.1 million of damages and a deposit paid.
- Ascott Residence Trust Management, the manager of Ascott Residence Trust or Ascott REIT, has signed a sale-and-purchase agreement to sell the trust beneficiary interest of six properties under the portfolio of ARC-CapitaLand Three Tokutei Mokuteki Kaisha (TK3) to an un-related third party.
- Hu An Cable Holdings subsidiary Wuxi Hu An Wire and Cable has received notifications from 12 of its customers, saying they will be terminating all payments under their existing purchase contracts.
- Electronic appliance distributor Choo Chiang Holdings posted a 43.3% fall in earnings to $2.2 million in its maiden six months financial results ended June. Revenue fell 9.9% to $31.6 million.
- Seafood supplier Oceanus Holdings is seeking a transfer to Catalist from the Mainboard.
Markets
- U.S. stocks ended slightly higher on Thursday as investors looked toward a key U.S. jobs report that may figure in the Federal Reserve's decision about when to lift interest rates. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.14% to 16,374.76 and the S&P 500 gained 0.12% to 1,951.13 points. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.35% lower at 4,733.50.
- The Straits Times Index ended the day 0.98% higher at 2,906.43, after trading between 2,878.47 and 2,908.58. Excluding warrants, gainers outnumbered decliners 240 to 143.
