Green Build Technology, the company formerly known as Youyue International, has won a contract to build an underground utility tunnel in Harbin City at a total investment cost of $209.8 million by the municipal government of Harbin.
The project will be undertaken by Harbin Shengming Energy Saving and Technology Co, a unit of Green Build.
Harbin Shengming will construct the tunnel covering a length of about 12km in the Southern Harbin Industrial New Town area and the Harbin airport area. It will also operate and maintain the utility tunnel for 25 years.
The construction is expected to be completed by Dec 31 2016 and Green Build expects the project to contribute positively to its revenue for the entire project period.
The group will co-invest approximately $96.8 million to the project while the Harbin municipal government will invest the balance amount. The group also expects to receive a total government subsidy of $195.4 million over 25 years and other operating income for each year of the 25 years it operates and maintains the utility tunnel after completion.
Green Build shares closed flat at 30 cents.
