Chew’s group, the producer, distributor and seller of eggs, posted an 11% growth in earnings to $2.2 million for FY2015 ended September.
Group revenue rose 9% to $33.9 million, lifted by higher sales volumes of its generic and designer eggs, coupled with higher selling prices and higher production volumes.
The Singapore market contributed $1.9 million to that increase while the Hong Kong contributed $900,000 as the group increased the number of supermarkets carrying its eggs.
Chew’s says it expects the price of raw feed materials to continue to grow and have increased its inventories of feeds like yellow maize and soya bean meals to minimize the impact on its operation costs.
The group is also in discussions with the Singapore Land Authority and the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore regarding the possible redevelopment of Lim Chu Kang where its operations are located, and will provide updates whenever necessary, it adds.
Chew’s shares closed 2.2% lower at 22 cents on Friday.
