In other metals trade, copper also rose off a multiyear low, with December high-grade copper HGZ5, -0.07% up 3.4 cents, or 1.7%, to $2.055 a pound.January platinum PLF6, +0.71% fell $5.70, or 0.7%, to $841.70 an ounce, while December palladium PAZ5, -0.02% added 15 cents to $541.50 an ounce.
