SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index (STI) up 21.20 points to 2,900.25 as at 9.01am, following gains in US markets.The latest data showed the US economy created a more-than-expected 211,000 jobs for November, raising the odds that the Federal Reserve will lift interest rates in December.
Top gainers in early morning trade included UOB, DBS, and SIA.
Some 43.1 million shares worth S$59.6 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 93 to 36.
