The Straits Times Index is a modest 0.1% higher at 2,844.10 shortly after the open, trading cautiously higher after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since the financial crisis.
The gains follow a strong performance in US markets.
Noble Group and Singapore Airlines lead gains, up 1.2% and 1.1%, respectively. The latter was one of a group or airlines that won a legal challenge against the European Union, which had ruled against them for price fixing.
Golden Agri-Resources and Ascendas REIT fall 1.5% and 1.3%, respectively, with the latter announcing further details of a private placement and preferential offering.
