SINGAPORE shares opened marginally higher on Wednesday, probably buoyed by upbeat US stock performances overnight and a recovery in oil prices.At 9.02am, the Straits Times Index was up 6.03 points or 0.2 per cent at 2,957.84.
Some 80.2 million shares worth S$74.3 million were traded.
Gainers outnumbered losers 78 to 38.
Early gainers on Wednesday morning were Singapore Telecommunications, up 0.76 per cent at S$3.99; Acromec, up 4.7 per cent at 33.5 cents; and Noble, up 1.1 per cent at 46 cents.
