Rounding out action in the metals, July copper HGN6, +0.36%  ended at $2.075 a pound, down 2.9 cents, or 1.4%. July platinum PLN6, -0.30%  fell $12.10, or 1.1%, to $1,054 an ounce and June palladium PAM6, -0.61%  declined $11.40, or 1.9%, to $596.65 an ounce.
