Neo Group posts earnings of $4.2 mil in FY16

Neo Group has posted earnings of $4.2 million in the financial year ended March 31, 2016.

This compares to $7.4 million in the 14-month period ended March 31, 2015, as a result of a change in financial year.

The food catering group proposes a one-tier tax-exempt final dividend of 1 cent per share.

Revenue registered $125.4 million during FY2016 as compared to $77.4 million in FY2015.

Neo says its food manufacturing subsidiary Thong Siek Holdings, which owns the popular DoDo brand of fishballs, contributed a maiden 10-month revenue to its topline.

Meanwhile, its food trading subsidiary CT Vegetables & Fruits contributed a maiden five-month revenue of $7.5 million.

Neo says its market share has widened to 14.7% in 2016 from 10% in 2014, according to a study conducted by Euromonitor in April this year.

Going forward, the group remains optimistic as it focuses on enhancing margin efficiencies through process automation and innovation.

Shares of Neo ended higher at 63 cents on Wednesday.
