SINGAPORE stocks ended 0.1 per cent higher on Monday, with the Straits Times Index advancing 3.11 points to 2,766.93.

The blue-chip index's non-committal move came as traders stayed cautious over the prospect of a June rate hike in the United States.

Volume was relatively muted. About 1.02 billion shares worth S$690.2 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.67 per share.

The most actively traded counter was Magnus Energy, which was flat at S$0.003 with 107.5 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Memstar Technology and Spackman Entertainment Group.

The field was almost evenly matched, with 197 gainers and 193 losers.
