SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

AN overnight rebound on Wall Street gave a fillip to Singapore stocks on Tuesday, which opened 0.5 per cent higher with the Straits Times Index rising 12.41 points to 2,748.47 as at 9.01 am.

The blue-chip index was boosted after crude oil prices rose to a six-month high.

About 65.4 million shares worth S$66.4 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.02 per share.

The most actively traded counter was LionGold, which was flat at S$0.004 with 13.4 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Eu Yan Sang and Vallianz Holdings.

Gainers outnumbered losers 96 to 31, or about three up for every one down.
