SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore


SINGAPORE shares jumped higher early on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index gaining 1.31 per cent, or 36.15 points, to 2,786.38 as at 9.02am.

Gainers outnumbered losers 106 to 25, or about four up for every one down, with 42.7 million shares worth S$59.3 million changing hands.

Singapore Telecommunications was the top active stock by both volume and value, rising by 2.1 per cent, or eight Singapore cents, to S$3.89 with 4.2 million shares traded.

The banks were all in positive territory, with DBS Group Holdings adding 1.8 per cent, or 28 Singapore cents, to trade at S$15.44, and United Overseas Bank rising 1.2 per cent, or 22 Singapore cents, to change hands at S$18.13. OCBC Bank advanced 1.1 per cent, or nine Singapore cents, to S$8.49.
