ARA Asset Management is bidding for a stake in Singapore's Capital Square office tower in the city's central business district, according to Bloomberg. ARA is seeking the 50% stake in the building, said the people. Donald Han, managing director at real estate broker Chestertons, estimates that the tower could fetch about $2,500 psf, valuing the 50% stake at $415 million. ARA shares closed at $1.32 on Wednesday.
Leather furniture distributor HTL International has received an offer from Ideal Homes International to acquire all its issued shares. Ideal Homes plans to acquire all 399.8 million issued shares for $1 each. This is 20% higher than HTL last traded price of 80 cents on June 17. This offer values HTL at nearly $400 million. Ideal Homes is a subsidiary of Shanghai-listed wood furniture and floor manufacturer Yihua Group. HTL will be delisted after the acquisition.
Guocoland on Wednesday announced that 70% of retail space at Tanjong Pagar Centre has been taken up, ahead of the development’s scheduled completion in 3Q16. Tanjong Pagar Centre is a large scale, integrated mixed-use project located above the Tanjong Pagar MRT station, and is set to become the tallest building in Singapore at 290 metres high. Guocoland closed flat at $1.85 on Wednesday.
Cityneon’s subsidiary Victory Hill Exhibitions (VHE) says its Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition on Wednesday opened to the world-famous public on the Las Vegas Strip at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. “Las Vegas has a total of about 43 million visitors in a year and we are targeting to secure 1 to 1.5% of that market to visit the attraction,” says Ron Tan, CEO of VHE. Shares of Cityneon closed at 89 cents on Wednesday.
Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co., a subsidiary of the company’s 51% owned Cosco Shipyard Group Co., has delivered a 111,000 DWT oil tanker, Front Jaguar, to its European buyer. Cosco Corp closed flat at 30 cents on Wednesday.

US stocks finished narrowly lower on Wednesday on the eve of a closely-contested British referendum on whether to leave the European Union. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3% to 17,780.83. The broad-based S&P 500 shed 0.2% at 2,085.45, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 0.2% to 4,833.32.
Earlier, the Straits Times Index closed 3.32 points lower at 2,786.13.
