In other metals, July copper HGN6, -0.10% tacked on about a penny, or 0.5%, to close at $2.0615 a pound, July platinum PLN6, -0.36% rose $12.60, or 1.3%, at $1,012 an ounce, while September palladium PAU6, -0.37% gained $9.05, or 1.6%, to settle at $561.20 an ounce.
