Cosco Corp (S), Ezion, SingPost, Mencast

Here are some stocks that could move the market this Wednesday morning.

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co., a subsidiary of the company’s 51% owned Cosco Shipyard Group Co., has delivered a module carrier Bigroll Bering to its European buyer. Cosco shares closed at 30 cents on Tuesday.

Ezion Holdings says ES Indonesia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, is acquiring a 49% interest in an Indonesian company which owns, charters and operates offshore vessels. The consideration of the acquisition was not revealed. Ezion closed 0.93% lower at 53 cents on Tuesday.

Singapore Post on Tuesday announced the resignation of Group Chief Operating Officer Dr Sascha Hower. Dr Hower, 38, will be “pursuing new opportunities overseas,” SingPost said in a statement. His resignation will be effective 26 August 2016. SingPost closed 0.32% lower at $1.56 on Tuesday.

Mencast Holdings on Tuesday revealed it was served with a writ of summons and a statement of claim by plaintiffs S & W Engineering and Wong Chung Kang on June 3. The plaintiffs are demanding $2.35 million from Mencast under a sale and purchase agreement. S & W and Wong also want the Court to declare void a profit warranty under the deal. Mencast last closed at 20.5 cents on 10 June.

Markets
Energy and technology stocks were among the better performers Tuesday as Wall Street finished slightly higher ahead of Thursday's much-anticipated British vote on whether to leave the European Union. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.1% to 17,829.73. The broad-based S&P 500 climbed 0.3% to 2,088.90, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 0.1% to 4,843.76.

The Straits Times Index ended 11.42 points lower at 2,789.45. Turnover was a poor 985 million units worth $942 million despite being boosted by the debut of Frasers Logistics and Industrial Trust (FLT) that accounted for $128 million.
