July copper HGN6, -2.82%  rose 2.7 cents, or 1.3%, to settle at $2.163 a pound. July platinum PLN6, +1.33%  fell $17.20, or 1.7%, to settle at $966.30 an ounce, while September palladium PAU6, -2.14% edged up by $3.65, or 0.6%, to settle at $565.90 an ounce.
