SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE share prices opened flat on Friday, after US shares reversed course and ended with gains helped by a marginal rise in oil prices and expectations for a strong but not huge gain in jobs in the US employment data. The S&P 500 hit a seven-month high on Thursday.

Singapore's benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) opened 12.12 points or 0.43 per cent higher to 2,807.21 points as at 9.01 am, with 26.5 million shares worth S$42.3 million traded. Gainers outnumbered losers 78 to 25.

Top stocks by volume traded include Equation, Singtel, China Sports and Jumbo.
