In other trading, July silver SIN6, +0.49% fell 5.3 cents, or 0.3%, to $16.394 an ounce and July copper HGN6, +0.51% lost 6.7 cents, or 3.1%, to $2.051 a pound. July platinum PLN6, +0.68% added $2.90, or 0.3%, to $999.40 an ounce, while Sept. palladium PAU6, +1.57% ended at $552.15 an ounce, down $4.85, or 0.9%.The iShares Silver Trust exchange-traded fund SLV, -0.51% was off 0.5%, while gold ETF SPDR Gold Trust GLD, -0.08% traded flat. The VanEck Vectors Gold Miners ETF GDX, -1.34% shed 1.1%.
