Swiber clinches contracts worth US$215 mil

Swiber Holdings has secured three contracts worth US$215 million ($291.4 million) for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) related works.

One of the contracts relates to pipeline replacement work in Qatar, which was awarded by a European oil major.

Swiber says it has commenced the engineering phrase of this project, which is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2017.

Meanwhile, Swiber will participate in a consortium that will carry out EPCI works on two well head platforms, associated pipelines and tie-ins for a project off the coast of Myanmar for a major Southeast Asian oil and gas company.

The company says it has commenced work on the project, which is expected to complete by the first quarter of 2018.

Additionally, Swiber will provide transport and installation services for a full field development project in the waters off Vietnam.

Swiber says it has recently started work on this project, which is slated for completion in the third quarter of this year.

The latest contracts have lifted Swiber's order book to about US$1.2 billion.

Shares of Swiber ended lower at 17.2 cents on June 6.
