SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index up 7.11 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 2,853.48 as at 9.03am.
Markets were relatively calm ahead of the July 4 holiday in the United States.
Top gainers in early-morning trade included Thai Beverage, DBS Bank and Singapore Press Holdings.
Some 47.8 million shares worth S$50 million changed hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 88 to 27.
