Hong Kong shares edged up in the first few minutes of trade Monday after a top Federal Reserve official talked up the US economy, while investors await a key speech by the central bank's head at the end of the week.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.18 per cent, or 40.28 points, to 22,977.50.
