Gold for December delivery jumped $25, or 1.8%, to settle
at $1,395.80 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Prices for the most-active contract closed at their highest level since June 6,
according to FactSet data. On Thursday, they saw a modest 70-cent advance.
