The Dow Jones industrial average was up 48.38 points, or
0.33 percent, at 14,824.51. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.48
points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,634.96. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 14.83
points, or 0.41 percent, at 3,593.35.
