Up 13% for the
year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA -0.21% on Friday declined as much as
78 points, but closed down 30.64 points, or 0.2%, to 14,810.31, a level that
left it with a 1.3% drop on the week and down 4.5% for the month.
