Gold futures GCG4 -0.15%  were lower, oil futures CLF4 +0.45%  were up and the dollar DXY -0.0050%  moved up.

Big Lots BIG -12.55% was down 9% in premarket action after the retailer said late Thursday it would exit the Canadian market and issued a weaker outlook for its U.S. operations in 2013.

Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc. ULTA -20.54%  slid 18% in premarket trade after disappointing quarterly results late Thursday.
