In the energy market, January natural gas NGF14 -0.08% was unchanged at $3.96 per million British thermal units. The EIA’s weekly update on natural-gas supplies is also due Thursday. Analysts surveyed by Platts expect a drop of between 139 billion cubic feet to 143 billion cubic feet.
January Brent crude UK:LCOF4 -0.30% dropped 13 cents, or 0.3%, to $111.55 a barrel. January gasoline RBF4 -0.52% lost 1 cent, or 0.5%, at $2.71 a gallon, and January heating oil fell HOF4 -0.26% 1 cent, or 0.3%, to $3.05 a gallon.
