The dollar’s gains Tuesday were seen against most of its major rivals, with the euro EURUSD -0.10% slipping to $1.3678 from $1.3693, the British pound GBPUSD -0.09% inching down to $1.6346 from $1.6350, and the Australian dollar AUDUSD -0.24% declining to 89.13 U.S. cents from 89.37 U.S. cents.
The Japanese yen USDJPY +0.05% also retreated modestly, with the dollar rising to ¥104.34 from ¥104.06.
