U.S. stock futures added to their gains following the data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJH4 -0.06% rose 47 points, or 0.3%, to 16,350, while those for the S&P 500 index SPH4 -0.07% gained 2.9 points to 1,832.20.
