January platinum futures PLF4 +0.34% added $7.10, or 0.5%, to settle at $1,371.10 an ounce, while March palladium PAH4 +0.75% gained $7.50, or 1%, to settle at $718.30 an ounce. March copper futures HGH4 +0.47% rose by more than 1 cent, or 0.4%, to nearly $3.40 a pound.
