Some markets in the region were able to stay in positive territory, taking their lead from the U.S. where Wall Street ended the year with indexes hitting all-time highs on Tuesday. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 AU:XJO +0.29% rose 0.3%, SG:STI +0.17% and Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.1%.
