The euro fell against the dollar, yen and pound Thursday on data showing accelerating deflation in Spain and renewed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The euro EURUSD, -0.01% traded at $1.3165 Thursday, down from $1.3192 late Wednesday. The euro EURJPY, +0.03% traded at 136.68 yen, down from ¥137.07 late Wednesday. It traded EURGBP, -0.02% at 0.7947 pounds, down from 0.7960 pounds late Wednesday.
The dollar remained lower against the yen, New Zealand dollar NZDUSD, -0.20% Australian dollar AUDUSD, -0.07% and Canadian dollar CADUSD, +0.00% early in the U.S. session.
The ICE U.S. Dollar index, BUXX, +0.04% a measure of the dollar against a basket of six rival currencies, was up 0.08% to 82.52.
